Quite easy to say from a person who grew up and spent most of his life between restaurants and bars. I remember, actually I don’t remember but there are a lot of pictures to prove it, that everything started when I was eight months old more or less. My parents were busy with their restaurant jobs used to leave me in custody of line cooks and kitchen porters, from there, the step to start to walk around the kitchen was really small. A few years later without knowing why I found myself attending at the hospitality & management high school (well! Not really attending, it’s more appropriate to say enrolled...) and working as a waiter but when I was fifteen when I fall in love with the bar…
At first, it was these weird drinks in weird-shaped glasses that dragged my behind the bar, but it was looking at the back bar that still fascinates me. I understood that the bar was the place where I wanted to be, with so much history and knowledge kept alive behind that labels and inside the bottles.
I started to work, read, learn gathering information from people, books and anything else could help me to improve.
Working first from south to north Italy first, then a few other places around the world with always one target, increase my knowledge and master my skills.
Have I become a skillful and expert person in my field? Well, I don’t think so, the only two think that I’m sure about are that my leaver is my best friend (I shouldn't mention that- btw, drink responsibly...) and the most important thing is that love what I do!
